14, 2022 - A fundraiser for all the veterans in the nursing home and care home in
Gretna, Nebraska was honored Saturday by thanking them for their
service. Over thirty veterans attended with many other
non-veterans supporting them because they served their country.
The Gretna American Legion Riders gave each veteran a plaque which read
“We are proud of our veterans. Thank you for your service”, a
Thank You card signed by the riders and a check in the amount of $50.00
to be used as they see fit.
We are honored to be able to give back to those that served our country.
Many of those vets represented World War II, Korean War and the
Vietnam war eras. April

Legion Riders Chapter 216, Gretna, Nebraska
We feel the response from the public in the Gretna area proved their
support and generosity to our veterans were overwhelming. Just in
those few days, we were given over 450 pounds of nonperishable items
from peanut butter to bottled water. (see photos below)
“I’m sure you will see more fund raisers such as this in the future
from our chapter.” Director Don Klaumann. January 23, 2018 - Post 216 American Legion Riders of Gretna presented a $500 donation to the Gold Star Mothers to assist their mission to support homeless veterans staying at Victory Appartments in Omaha. Money that was raised at our 60'a and 70's Dance was distributed to this project and to help purchase supplies for the Quilts of Valor project. (photo) March 16, 2017 - Post 216 American Legion Riders of Gretna sponsored the the installation of a flag pole, flag, and light for Ray Coster of Weeping Water, NE.
